I have been a fire fighter since joining the Surrey Fire & Rescue Service (Surrey Fire Brigade) in April 1984 at the age of 18, my service has been as part of the Retained Duty System (RDS) in Lingfield. I am presently the Watch Manager in Charge (Sub/O) commanding a crew of 14 fire fighters, I have held this rank and position since May 1996. I have also previously worked within the role of the Services on-call photographer providing incident and training images for publicity and training literature, this role is currently being provided through Fire Photos. My photographic career began as a Freelance covering the conflicts in the Former Yugoslavian regions of Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Kosovo during the 1990's. Between 1992 and 1995 I served with the Bosnian Croatian Army as a combat /intelligence photographer covering combat actions alongside Croatian Forces primarily in Central Bosnia. As a UK Press photographer I have covered a wide variety of news events ranging in variation from political demonstrations, to the Ladbroke Grove rail crash and the funeral of The Princess of Wales.
